The winter months keep dragging on, and while most of us prefer to just curl up next to the fireplace with a good book, that isn’t an option for workers who have to be outside. I’m speaking of course of the snowplowers, garbage men, construction workers and other occupations who work outside.
Just like in summer, there are special hazards these workers need to be mindful of like hypothermia, frost bite and trench foot.
To prevent these sorts of injuries, you should:
- Dress appropriately
- Do NOT get wet, and if you do, change clothes ASAP
- Take breaks – get inside and warm up!
- Did we say not to get wet?
This morning, the famed Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, which means 6 more weeks of winter.
