stopping swimming pool accidents

Swimming pools are full of fun in the summer months, but careless behavior around pools can lead to serious accidents. That said, here are three simple steps you can take to help prevent swimming pool accidents on your watch:

1. Check pool equipment

Make sure diving boards, slides, ladders, etc. are all in working order before anyone is allowed in the pool.

2. Clear away toys

Toys that aren’t being used can cause a fall. Make sure all excess toys are far away from the poolside.

3. Supervision

All swimmers should have some sort of supervision. At least one adult should be watching children and adults should never swim alone – nor when they’ve been drinking alcohol.
